Nope /dev/audio doesn't exist. Neither does dsp, or mixer. Now what?
[root@Fisher fisher]# ls -l /dev/audio
ls: /dev/audio: No such file or directory
[root@Fisher fisher]# ls -l /dev/dsp
ls: /dev/dsp: No such file or directory
[root@Fisher fisher]# ls -l /dev/mixer
ls: /dev/mixer: No such file or directory
The onboard soundcard has always given me problems in Linux and when I searched the IBM site for specs on my box I ended up finding
This page with specs for my sound card. As far as I can tell though it's a crystal audio sound card and it uses the cs432x driver in linux, or at least that's what's been detected by my box.
I also have a soundblaster 16 WavEffects card installed right now,
