Snd drivers

i contacted my hardware developer and they told me to get

Hercules Fortissimo II (CS4624) or Game Theater XP (CS4630)

the one that applied via my chipset number was

Hercules Fortissimo II (CS4624)

i just can't seem to find the install i found a .deb but have no idea how to install it.

i don't know where to download the right drivers, now in my mandrake it stats it is using

CS46XX as my driver yet i get no sound at all. i have my amp pluged into the headphones area of my sound card. but i get nothing going to that amp.

any help would be great

sorry if this is the wrong forum

try rerunning harddrake (or whatever it's called these days) and select the right driver.
Have you tried running a mixing prog to make sure the sound card is unmuted?

ps. a .deb file is for Debian-Linux ... not Mandrake
