Smart Media Card Problems

Hey All
I have a Smart Media card slot that came with my computer on the front as a panel that i can slide my camera card into to get my photos from my digital camera .. for some reason it doesnt pick it up in linux. I need someone to help me install it to the system or atleast give me a solution to my problem..

Does dmesg produce any information when you insert a card?

If your camera can connect to your computer you might be able to read it that way. It should detect as a sdx device that can be mounted like a disk.

I just dont think it's supported yet ... I need to try and update the new kernal but im a noob to linux and well Im not sure i can do that lol well thanks fer tha help anyways! ttyl
