SM56 modem Problem on RH7.3

I have installed RH Linux 7.3 on my system successfully but it is not
detecting my modem which is 'motorola sm56 speaker phone(internal)'.

I am using wvdial but it is giving 'no modem detected'.

Steps followed by me are given below.

# setserial -ga /dev/ttyS2
# ln -s /dev/ttyS2 /dev/modem

then I given the following command

# wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

but after scanning all the ports it is giving 'no modem detected'.

So what is wrong and how to configure this modem properly.
