Sluggish keyboard response
I am running Kubuntu 5.04 and PS2 keyboard.
After I changed my keyboard numlock setting through KDE's control panel, my keyboard response turns very sluggish, I need to hold on to the key for half a second or so for the system to register. Reverting the settings doesn't help. The system is snappy and mouse response is snappy too, just the keyboard. I am taking half an hour or so just to type this. Please save me!!! |
Btw, typing speed at console is normal, only in KDE is slow.

I have a wireless USB and it can sometimes go sluggish for short periods of time. I let the computer relax and then restart. Make sure something isn't eating up resources by running `top` in the terminal.
Did you make sure that "slow keyboard" wasn't on in Accessibilities? |
As you have guessed, the "slow keyboard" thingie is turned on. It is weird that I have never even seen that page in the control panel before, let alone touch it.
It might be dumb, but thanks a lot. |
It actually turns itself on in some instances without letting the user know. Evil KDE.

Thank you guys.
after 3 years form the last post, it helped me. Don't know why, but I got "slow keyboard" on, in Accessibility. Thanks Enrico |
