Slow transfer speed on RTL8191SU usb wifi (AirLink101 AWLL6075)

I have a AirLink101 AWLL6075 Wireless N Mini USB Adapter with a RTL8191SU chipset. This works with the r8712u driver on a 3.2 kernel. The adapter connects easily & reliably and I have had it running on a mpd music server for several weeks 24/7. My problem is that the network transfer speed is very slow. As an example with dd:

144885760 bytes (145 MB) copied, 532.189 s, 272 kB/s

I have install the latest compat-drivers for kernel version 3.2 with no change. As comparison, a RTL8188CUS based adapter on the same eBox 3350mx pc had much better speeds:

338609152 bytes (339 MB) copied, 90.953 s, 3.7 MB/s

I would appreciate it if anyone has any advice / suggestions about getting this to function closer to the advertised speeds which is supposed to be up to 150Mbps.

Regards,
Stefan

Hi

can't help too much as I don't have your hardware but
are you using the non-free package firmware-realtek or ndiswrapper?

I initially used the staging driver for the 3.2 kernel but after that I downloaded & installed the driver & firmware from the Realtek website. I have not tried ndiswrapper.
