It reads about 14MB/s (says hdparm and bonnie++) and in Windows XP HDtach says its reading 46MB/s so theres something wrong with my Linux SATA drive configuration. Does anyone have any suggestions how I could improve the speed?

Do you have the kernel patches loaded that are available from the link in my signature that says "SATA RAID FAQ for Linux"?
Also... only 46MB/sec for XP? That's supposed to be 150MB/s as per the SATA specification. Is that number throughput or actual in Windows XP?
