I'm running a computer and it has really slow 3d performance. I don't think it's the graphics card, because I had an ATI Rage 128, and 3d was fairly fast. I recently upgraded to a Radeon 9200 with 128 mb of DDR SDRRAM. 3d performance is much slower!

Here are my computer's specs:

Dual (2) AMD Athlon MP 2000+ Processors
1 Gb of DDR Memory
2 60 Gb Hard Drives (one of which is made by maxtor, the other I don't know)
Radeon 9200 w/ 128 Mb DDR SDRAM
Tyan Motherboard

Please tell me what I can do (if anything) to increase performance. I get about 1 fps on 3d games. (I run at 1600x1200 resolution), and I used to get much faster with the old card (which cost about 1/3 as much as this card.

I have even tried turning off all nice effects on games, but to no avail.

As far as I know the ATI DRI driver for hardware acceleration that is part of XFree 4.3.0, as I remember it that leaves your choices as the Gatos driver or the ATI Linux driver:

Hopefully that thing will compile right SMP.
