Question Slackware 9 sound problem

I have an onboard sound card disabled from the bios and a sound blaster 5.1. At startup I can see the two sound card detect by the kernel. I enter the command in rc.modules for my sb5.1 .

My sound card still not working. I don't know how to remove my sound card from the startup.

Do you have any idea....

well, you must have the modules installed in /lib/modules, otherwise uncommenting rc.modules would not work, I think. And those modules will not be installed automagically.
I reckon you should compile a new kernel with support for only 1 of the 2 soundcards...

compiling a new kernel isn.t that hard really... you just have to know what you have to do, and it is important to know what kind of hardware you have.

there.s this big link "kernel compiling for newbies" on the top of the forum... I suggest you read that.
here.s the link btw...

thank you.

Thanks for the information. I Know how to compile a new kernel. I was wondering do it without compiling a new kernel.
