Slackware 10.0 w/ kern 2.4.26 respawing too quickly
 
I have an IBM 9595-0PT running Slackware 10.0 w/ 2.4.26 kernel. I intend to use this unit as a 'poor man's terminal server'. It has three (3) IBM dual serial adapters installed that appears to be seen. After reaching multiuser level, the system claims that the added serial ports are 'respawning too quickly':

S45: respawing too quickly: disabling for 5 minutes.
S46: respawing too quickly: disabling for 5 minutes.
S47: respawing too quickly: disabling for 5 minutes.
S48: respawing too quickly: disabling for 5 minutes.
S49: respawing too quickly: disabling for 5 minutes.
S50: respawing too quickly: disabling for 5 minutes.
