Hotplug detects it BUT there are still no /dev/dvb
Any ideas?

You have to create them manually or by the script included into the drivers sources. It is called MAKEDEV-DVB.sh.
For configurations using the old /dev system it has to be ran once. With udev you have to run the script at boot including (copying) the script in /etc/rc.d/rc.local.
May be I'm wrong, but I suspect Skystar1 is not supported by the recent drivers from linuxtv.
I would check Linuxtv web site if their driver is suited for Sktstar1.
Hope this helps
Ciao

Thanks for the answer, but anyways...
I can't launch any tv-related program! For example, xawtv prints THIS:

can't open /dev/dvb/adapter0/video0: No such device

And that happens with anyy other program

I have runned MAKEDEV-DVB.sh and /dev/dvb appeared, but anyway nothing works.
The drivers for it are also loaded, so i don't see anything that can cause such error.

Output of lsmod | grep dvb:
