SiS655 chipset and ATI drivers - Success anyone?

Hi guys.

This post is part of a process of elimination. I'm hoping I can get some feedback from people using this chipset and a relatively recent ATI card (I have a Raddy 9700 Pro in a GA-8SQ800 Ultra mobo).

I'm running Slackware 9.0 and I can't get the ATI drivers to work. I don't want to duplicate a discussion I've had in the Slack forum. I just want to know if anyone who has a motherboard with this chipset has successfully installed the ATI drivers and found them to be working properly. If so, what distro are you using? What kernel? What version of XFree86?

Thanks everyone.

Huy guys! I'm interested in this one... i have the same mobo but... a geforce 2mx
actually i'm on a debian sid with kernel 2.6.0-test4 with xfree 4.2
First... i test it with many other kernels with many patches too... but i can't get aplications withg opengl work properly...
y run quake3 chopy... now... with 2.6 kernel is more fluid but every 10 or 15 sec the game hang up... this is not like this when i run quake3 with xinit only.
The game is running to 90 fps...
Is know that the SiS 655 don't have fully support. Alan drop a fix in his -ac series... i don't have tested this right now.
any ideas? sugestions?
glxgears show me poor fps in fullscreen and the windows in front (60fps average)
Excuse me for my english...
