Que pasa chamo!

What happens when you play mp3s or videos or whatever
do you get any messages?
open a terminal and type
lsmod to check the loaded drivers

virussx,

first off, change your signature please, this site is kinda PG-13, its in the rules from when you signed up... no biggie, we just want this place kiddie friendly too.

The problem is the arts daemon, it does mountains of coolio things, but horks when the soundcard is only capable of doing one type of sound, offhand I think its 44000kHz at 16-bit, the coded supporting the i810_audio extension for these sis7012 cards isn't that hot, I've got the same one onboard in my work machine, it hacks and weezes a lot. There's really no way around it until the driver gets more mature, unless you want to try to compile alsa from the ground up, apparently that works much better for the card. Living without arts is no big deal... heck, the ceaseless beeping of KDE events gets on you after a while.

Cheers,

Finegan
