sis 7012 on debian

hi ive jsut installed debian using the beta graphical install thing :), i must say it is very good, loving it so far. However i cant get my sound to work! i have a sis 7012 sound which uses the intel i810 sound drivers i think? however i cant get the sound card to work.

so far ive apt-get (i love apt :D) sndconfig it detects my card but says it isnt yet supported or somthing (however when i installed fedora it was able to detect it, i guess debians is just an older version), ive also tried alsa and selected it to use the intel i810 drivers but that hasnt worked either.

any suggestions/fixes/help is welcome

thank you in advanced

scott

After some initial problems, I got it working on Slackware 9.1.

My experience can be found in this thread:

Good luck!
