SIS 300 video onboard MDK 9.1

Mandrake 9.1 seems at a loss with SIS 300 onboard videochip. I skipped the
test and everything else went fine but when I boot MDK, I get the blue
galaxy screen, but nothing else, no icons, no bars at all.
Any ideas outhtere?

Why did you skip the test? I presume you mean the test of the graphics setup in the installation. If you had gone into the test you would have seen that the standard video card - 'generic' - was selected as default. This is OK for most situations but not for all. You really needed to click on the graphics card button and select SiS->300 and run the test to see that all is OK before proceeding.
