simulate reboot effect on hd
i have recently done some major partition juggling, and suddenly one of my partitions does not work any more. ('not a valid block device'). diskdrake insists I need to reboot. is there a way to "reinitialize" the disk so that the system can try again to access it?
I did not change this partition directly, just created another one before it on the disk, causing the partition number to change. I then deleted the new partition again, and then the problem was there.
os: Mandriva 2006 on amd64.
