Simple SCSI Question...

Hey,

Here at work we use a bunch of LTO Ultrinium tape drives as storage media, but we're having some trouble getting them to reliably talk to the IT supported Red Hat boxes. Which is somewhat annoying because they work fine on our non-IT supported, custom install fieldwork unit.

What I want to do is get a complete list of the SCSI drivers and settings from the fieldwork box, so I can then compare with the Red Hat boxes. Hopefully we might then be able to point the IT guys in the right direction for a solution.

Anyone got any ideas on the fastest/best way of doing this?

Cheers

Check which kernel each uses. You can download the kernel source ( sometimes the kernel docs are in a separate package ). Also look at differences in the mt program. On my (non-redhat) distro, it is supplied with the cpio package. You might want to check /var/log/messages. Are any errors indicated?
