Rep:
shutdown or leave it on?
i got a laptop and i am confused do you recommend to shutdown or leave it on?
i searched the forum and found a thread about this but thay talked about desktop in which way i can use my machine longer?
If you're running linux, then linux itself has no real benefit from shutting down nightly, so leave it running. As long as the laptops' hard drive powers down automatically you have nothing to worry about.
Your question is to general. For your labtop or notebook you can leave it on until the battery goes dead. If you have noisy notebook, you can turn it off when you go to sleep.
