Setup options

Ok so I'm building a will be Mail server and I need to choose a way around a few problems.

I have a RAID card (promise SX4000) and it isn't supported in Redhat 8. Manufacturer doesn't have drivers either. There are drivers for 7.2/7.3 though.

Should I drop back to 7.3? This is on a dual athlon system with the AMD MPX chipset, can I expect problems with this on 7.3?

One day I'm going to buy something and it'll actually work...

you said that there is driver for 7.2/7.3
These are not the drivers intented for redhat version something but for a particular kernel
so don't downgrade your redhat installation instead you can use the kernel of redhat 7.3(i think it was 2.4.18-3)
and maybe the driver will also work in redhat 8.0 provided you have the source(not binary)
compile the driver and see if it works
