Setup network at home??

Can anyone recommend me a good Howto. I've bought an ethernet card to connect my old comp to the new one, and a crossover cable. The new comp has a LAN socket at the back. Card is recognized under RH on the old comp. The new comp has Mandrake, which asks me for things like IP address and DNS. Help!!

You probably want to read the DHCP howto which should be found at www.tldp.org

Just depends on how you want to set it up, have one system act as a server, issue out the ip for machine 2, etc.
