settings monitor to 100 Hz refresh rate

hi

I have a philips 109P4 monitor, that supports 100 hz refresh rates.
i checked my monitor manual and it says:

HorizSync 30.0 - 110.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 160.0

Those values are exactly set in the xorg.conf file and my monitor is also automatically detected in fedora core 4, but still I can't choose 100 Hz. The only thing I can choose is 85 Hz.
Does anybody knows why??

Please help!

check your probe output like this reference
http://gnuman.com/guides/the_chronic...uring_x_3.html

normally in /etc/X11/xorg.conf or xf86free file

if you have no modelines in that file you can after understanding the warnings run
xvidtune in a console or do a search here or google for your monitor for a correct file as above that gives the correct modlines

I don't have your monitor or FC so can not help any further

i tried it, but the x server won't boot any more

Maybe you can't run higher then 85 hz?
