Server CRAWLS/HANGS with Samba install

Hi all,

I just installed Samba on my Precision 420 machine running RH9. Now I noticed that you can barely move the mouse over the screen and the machine seems like it's maxing out on CPU usage. Anyone have any idea what may be doing this?

How did you install it? From source?

yes I did...2.2.8a

Take a look for any errors/messages in:
/var/log/messages
and
/var/log/samba/*

Have you modified the config file yet?

I found out what it was. I guess Samba doesn't like running from xinetd. I removed it from there and just added it to my run controls to start on bootup.
