Sensor
Hello,
I am looking for a sensor to use with linux (Raspbian, if possible). All it has to do is detect when a product moves past it. I have been searching for weeks with no luck at all.. Any ideas? Thanks, Drew |
First thing I imagined was a laser shooting into a photocell. Simple and to the point. Looked it up and here is the build:

Thanks!
That is some really cool stuff! Just out of curiosity, do you know of other ways to make linux interact with hardware? I am a linux nerd working in industrial automation. So naturally, my interest in controlling and or interfacing with linux with hardware is totally peaked. Thanks again, that is a really great link! |
Are you asking about the RPi in particular or linux in general? The Pi has GPIO (general purpose Input/Output) pins that can also be used for I2c and SPI communication buses as well as a serial port and obviously ethernet.
In addition there are kits that include a whole array of different sensor types. https://www.amazon.com/Arduino-Raspb...pberry+pi+kits |
