Selecting Audio Output
My computer has two modes for audio output:
1) A motherboard Audio device, ATI SB5450 HDA Audio 2) A PCI card, Ensoniq ES1371. I'd like to use the motherboard audio jack only for system sounds (beeps) and the PCI card for playing music, usually with Amarok. Please tell me how to direct any audio output to any audio device if it is possible to do that. Thank you. ------------------------------------------------------ My aplay -l follows: **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: AudioPCI [Ensoniq AudioPCI], device 0: ES1371/1 [ES1371 DAC2/ADC] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: AudioPCI [Ensoniq AudioPCI], device 1: ES1371/2 [ES1371 DAC1] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0: ALC883 Analog [ALC883 Analog] Subdevices: 0/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 ___________________________ Intel D102GGC2 and DG965SS Fedora 8 Gnome 1 GB DDR2 Seagate SATA 160 GB |

Thank you
Peacedog,
Thank you very much. That link is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to get a better understanding of using multiple cards. |
