Seeking Diagnosis Advice...
Hi everyone...
I recently upgraded my RedHat 7.3 server to 9.0. It was a bit of a mess at first but it eventually went together with a rather nice final product.
Recently I have been noting periodic "freezes". The computer (the physical box itself) appears to be fully operational and then I'll receive an email from a user stating that they cannot SSH in. I'll turn to the other monitor and sure enough, it is completely locked up, I can't even get the monitor back from power saving mode.
My problem is that there doesn't appear to be any information that I can find which points me toward the problem. It is almost like the lock up is so absolute that not even a log entry is written to. When I reboot, the system checks the drive after an unclean shutdown, but that is all I have to go on.
My question then is: is there a good approach I can take to begin diagnosing this issue? Can anyone offer some advice on how I can best go about discovering the problem?
Thanks in advance
Verbal
I should note that I am using RedHat 9.0 (2.4.20-8). I do not install any graphical components... pure commandline environment.
