I'm searching for an economic USB scanner to scan documents and pictures as files for storage purpose. High resolution is not required but preferrable having CCD

I'm targeting on following models;

Canon
CanoScan LiDE 60 (It is NOT provided with CCD feature. Price is quite attractive)
Resolution: 1200 x 2400 dpi (having better resolution)

HP
HP Scanjet 2400 with CCD feature
Resolution: 1200 x 1200 dpi

Could you please shed me some light whether they work on Linux without much difficulty in setup. Are there any other recommendation. TIA

It looks like the HP one is v. new so isn't yet supported. Canon one should work great.

I've had excellent results with my Epson Perfection 1650 although it is a couple of years old now.
