SCSI controller as a device?

I have a large number of 18GB hard drives I'd like to put into a raid. However, I would like to have them so that I can detatch them and use them on a seperate system, or split them into two partitions and use them on seperate machines. What I want to do is have one machine with arount 15 drives in a RAID 5. This machine will have one external SCSI port wich will allow other machines to connect to it using the normal SCSI protocol. Is this possible with Linux?
