SCSI configuration
Hey all,
I just got an adaptec 2906 scsi card and I am wondering how to make sure it is installed right. I am running mandrake 9.1, though I plan to switch to RH9 as soon as I can backup my data.
I plan to attach an HP dds2 drive (6-tape-type) to the linux box and get that going.
So my questions are:
1) How can I tell if the scsi card is working properly? Is there a kernel module I need to load?
2) How do I be sure my tape drive is working properly ? (What device wiill it be? also)
3) How do I interact with the tape drive?
If you have any information for me that would be great.

I got the first two questions answered by poking around for a while. I thought I was close, and I was. Now I want to know how to format a tape, do a backup to it, restore from it, rotate tapes in the drive etc....
