scsi card for backups step1

ok, just setup a new box, fc6, most of the updates in place; I have an adaptec PCI scsi controller which I had working back with FC2 or so, but restaged this box as I got new hardware. I have that card and a scsi tape ait 35 lvd which I used for backups (swearing I used amanda) which now doesn't look right.

So as the subject states, step1 is check / get the hardware verified, then I assume step 2 over to software for a gui app to backup.

with that, here is the following required items;
uname shows; 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6
the /sbin/lspci;
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller Hub (rev 81)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/P/PL PCI Express Root Port (rev 81)
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 01)
00:1c.3 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) PCI Express Port 4 (rev 01)
00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI #1 (rev 01)
00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI #2 (rev 01)
00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI #3 (rev 01)
00:1d.3 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB UHCI #4 (rev 01)
00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller (rev 01)
00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev e1)
00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC Interface Bridge (rev 01)
00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) IDE Controller (rev 01)
00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR/GH (ICH7 Family) Serial ATA Storage Controller IDE (rev 01)
00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) SMBus Controller (rev 01)
01:03.0 Mass storage controller: Integrated Technology Express, Inc. ITE 8211F Single Channel UDMA 133 (ASUS 8211 (ITE IT8212 ATA RAID Controller)) (rev 11)
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 19)
04:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 7300 LE (rev a1)

I don't see the SCSI card and/or tape drive, but not even sure how it will appear, so thank you for any help or suggestions.

Lance

I do not see SCSI controller in the output either? Do you know its model number?
Does the controller BIOS page appear when the PC is booted?

Once the controller is recognized and the modules loaded the tape drive info will be displayed in the ouput of the dmesg command.

ok, reseted the card which now gave me the adaptec bios screen. Did recieve a nice bug buddy popup which I closed b4 saving, but updated some packages, reset and did get one new one on start;
udev: disabling IRQ #18

After that, nothing else, and no errors on login. The dmsg shows alot of errors on that device, see below;

Can't think off the top of my head which channel it's on, but at least hardware sees the card, just not sure on the above.
thanks.
