SCSI card and compatibility issue

I have a Ultra160 SCSI AMI Series 475, Rev-B3 card, which I have taken out of a Dell PowerEdge 1600 running Windows. I have tried to install this card in a new IBM ThinkCentre desktop PC running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.

However, when I do this, the ThinkCentre will not start up and a loud, intermittent beep emanates from the machine.

My main question is: is a SCSI card like this even compatible with a computer like a ThinkCentre? If so, does anyone have any advice or suggestions to get this working?

Here is a picture of the SCSI card itself:

Thanks in advance. Any general advice will help also.

beeping on those cards only means that either the battery fails, or it had lost drives on the configured arrays. you can stop the beeping from the card's bios.

however, if your system doesn't POST - that's a different issue, and you might have a problem with the port on the mb. or maybe you forgot to reconnect the screen :)
