SCSI and RAID1

I went thru some trouble getting a new system up from a provider, when they finally gave me the system, i could see the second scsi drive as sdb in dmesg but it was unpartition and hardware raid wasn't setup so the system had to be reloaded again. However how i can check the status of raid

They left a command line tool (rpm) so I can see it was installed afaapps-4.1-0.i386.rpm so when I run afacli to bring up the command line

CLI > open afa0
Executing: open "afa0"
Command Error: <The requested controller does not exist.>

CLI >

so what now? Im not very familar with raid, just want to make sure ive actually got something thats working and they didnt screw something up.

This is an Opteron 246 with CentOS release 4.3 btw

If it's a fresh install, why not download a suitable install-CD from you favorite distro and start all over again? Just my

This is a remote system, I dont have access to it physically, I bought it from a dedicated provider. ive asked them about it twice and they said it was working both times till I showed them dmesg then they had to reload it.

Point being is I want to make sure something I purchased is working with my own eyes rather then someone else
