Screen Shift


HI,
I have opensuse 10.2 installed in my machine and an nvidia 6600gt graphics card.
I have a strange problem. while I load linux,the screen is shifted to the left,which cuts off pixels from my left.
It is perfectly all right in windoes.strangely.my On screen display is not working.so I am in a fix.
I trid xvidtune as said in google but I get the following error: -

Xlib: extension "XFree86-VidModeExtension" missing on display ":0.0".
Unable to query video extension version

Plz help me..it is a very irritating problem

Hi, I had the same problems. I think the solution for you is in the program nvidia-settings. Run it as root. There, I think you can adjust your screen position, and save it to your xorg.conf file. If that doesn't work, you can always adjust the screen in the linux boot, then use nvidia's tools to move the screen in windows.
