Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Yesterday when I turned on the machine and boot up a Linux OS,
I was able to work for barely 5 mins and out of a sudden the screen
froze. No key can wake the computer up.
I turned off the machine using the power button. On turning
on the machine the second time, the same thing happens. The screen
froze after a little while.
I do not think it has to do with OS, since when I tried to
boot to Windows
7, I cannot even get to the login screen where the computer hangs
at the progress indicator with a turning ring.
I turned off and tried to turn it on again, this time I cannot
even see the BIOS menu.
Another time I tried to turned it on, I believe the fan is turning really noisily
but nothing else happened.
This morning, I pressed the power botton and I was
able to boot up one Linux OS. I let googleearth run a while and sure
enough the screen froze again a few minutes later.
After that I cannot power up the machine again.
Question: What is wrong with the machine ? The Motherboard
or the RAM or anything else ?
