Screen goes blank when TV started

Hi I hope someone can help me with this nagging problem, I have suse 10.1 with the latest ATI drivers. All seems ok, I also have a Compro Videomate T300 tv card, which can do digital and analogue installed in an MSI Diamond motherboard with an AMD 3500+ cpu and an X800 video card with 2gb of ram. Before I installed the ATI drivers the card worked fine, tv starts and all the channels are detected etc but once I installed the ATI drivers and 3D accelaration was enabled the screen would go blank everytime I started KdeTV or XawTV, and would have to do a ctr + alt + dlt to reboot. Can someone plaes help me, I think its something very simple but if you don't know you don't know............ thank in adavance for any help.

Zub
