That's actually a good idea from Tischbein. Bug, see if you can remove power to all your hard drives, and (if this isn't your only computer) try downloading and burning a "live" cd from a distro. Run it in the machine, and if that blanks out, it's a good bet then that there's something wrong with your motherboard or bios.

First of all I would like to thank each and every one who this has helped and who have helped in in dealing with this issue. The problem has been SOLVED!

I have two modules of 256MB of ram and while I tested both I didn't do a complete and thorough test ... so after all elsefailed I used the openSUSE boot DVD to run MEMTEST and tested all 512 megs of ram .. I let it sit all day UNTIL it found errors on the second installed module, removed it and viola! I am now windows free and run openSUSE on all but one of my computers and I have used my windows machine in almost a week! I love it! Thank YOU !
