you have to have support for the unixware slices and
ufs filesystem built into the kernel.

Firstly thanks for the reply,
If you could elaborate a bit, i am working with Radhat 7.2, where and how can i get the unixware slices and ufs filesystem, by the way the version of SCO i am using is 5.05 and not Unixware.
Thanks for your time.

that's the kind of stuff that doesn't get built into a linux
kernel by default. you may have to compile your own
kernel. there are lots of howto's around about that.
specifically, there is an option under partition types which
is under filesystems in the kernel configuration, and you
can select unixware slices support, along with bsd slices, which might be what you really need, and also support for the ufs filesystem.
to mount a freebsd or netbsd or openbsd filesystem,
i use a command like this:
mount -t ufs -o ro,ufstype=44bsd /dev/hda3 /1
mounting read-write sometimes crashes linux.
man mount will show options under ufstype and
you can see there what exactly you need for sco.
