Only way I know to get it setup is to install the hplip drivers. It includes all the needed tools for printing, scanning, faxing, cardreader if present, and much more. Goto
http://www.linuxprinting.org/cups-doc.html and enter printer model and follow any instructions provided.
I have a photosmart 3310 and install went smooth on centos, redhat el, suse, and unbuntu/kunbuntu from what I have tried.
You can do a search for ' hplip and mandriva ' here or on google. Also check out the HCL section here at the top or to the right.
