I've been having a problem with my SoundBlaster Live! 1024 on linux mandrake 9.0
Since a short while I've installed a new Mainboard (a DFI AD77) this mainboard includes an on-board soundcard. I also have a Creative SB Live! 1024. Hance I think this one's better I want to use the 1024.
Only problem is I can't hear nothing from it. If I check the mandrake control center under Hardware, I can see both sound cards. Even if I open the Gnome mixpanel I see them both
You need to comment out the modprobing going on for your other sound card.
I was in your boat back in my Mandy days as well.
So anyway, open up your /etc/modules.conf file and locate the lines NOT relating to your SBLIVE card. Comment (#) them out by placing an # in front of each line.
If you have questions or are not sure what you are looking for, post the contents of the file and someone will show you where to place them.
