SATA VIA Chipset 2.4.31 problems

Hi,

I have a working sata hdd on 2.6 kernel, but I want to use the 2.4 kernel, especially the 2.4.31. I see in the directory three sata_via.c, but i cannot find it in the menuconfig to enable it. How do I enable the sata_via drivers in the 2.4.31 menuconfig?

Hi again,

I solved it myself and I shall write down the answer for others. Because the sata_via kernel driver has the EXPIREMENTAL flag it will only appear when this option is enabled. So, go to "Code maturity level options" and enable this option. All EXPIREMENTAL modules become available and they can be compiled into the kernel.
