sata+suse9.0=slow ?

i just installed suse 9.0 and a maxtor 160 gig sata drive it work fine but its very slow transfering data in the sata drive and at startup suse is telling me that dma is turned off for this drive ...
can anyone help ?

How did you get it onto an sata drive?... its not actually supported by linux yet till kernel 2.6, though suse does have some odd drivers tossed in extra...


hdparm -c3 -u1 -d1 /dev/yourdrivehere

thx , i just fixed it upgrading to 2.6.3 .... now other shit dont work but sata work perfectly thx for your help
