SATA HDD's not detected Slackware 14

Hi,

I am attempting to build a file server using an old PC, some extra HDD's and Slackware 14.

I have an 80 gig IDE drive which I plan to use for the system files, and two 1TB SATA drives for a RAID 1.

The problem I am having is only the 80 gig IDE is detected by fdisk and cfdisk.

If I use an Ubuntu disk all three drives are detected and I thought about formatting the drives using the Ubuntu disk but it has no option to format as type fd (linux RAID).

How can I get Slackware to detect these SATA drives?

Do you have separate sata controller to use sata HDD or do you use the MB integrate conector? On Slackware do you use a stock kernel (general or huge) or a custom kernel? Maybe is a module not loaded or not enable / compile.

Hi,

Look at 'dmesg' & the output of 'lspci -vv' to see how the drives are identified.
