Unhappy SATA Drive not detecting

Hi

I have Mandrake 10.0 and the following harddrive
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA 200 gig Drive

After installing Mandrake(ide Drive) I inserted a SATA PCI Card with 4 SATA ports. And Connected the SATA Drive on the Card.

Linux picks the PCI Card up, but not the drive located on the card.

I tried a fresh installation with the PCI card and harddrive already installed in the pci. Then I can See the PCI card and the Harddrive(SATA).

But i cant reinstall the system that needs the SATA drive, what can I do?

Please Help

Thanks

I found a fix for my own problem.

In the /etc/modprobe.conf
Add the following entry: alias scsi_hostadapter sata_promise

Restart and thats as easy as it is. View in the fstab file if you dont know where the drive is mounted by default

"Never say die"
