Currently i have a ibm xseries x3650 server installed with Redhat 4 U2. We also bought a tape drive and is a SATA DDS 5 but the redhat not able to detect the tape drive.
Try called IBM or search on the internet not able to get the driver.
Any one have idea how to configure ?
If i upgrade to update 6 which the kernel-devel which support more latest device especially SATA, will this solve my driver issue ?

According to IBM's site, you're in a supported configuration for OS and hardware. What brand/model of tape drive do you have? You don't say, so it's hard to help.
Why do you say it can't detect the tape drive? Have you looked in dmesg for the device(s) at boot time?

Have you looked in dmesg for the device? Why do you say it's not detected? And since you're in a supported OS/hardware configuration, per IBM, you should contact them and get the support you paid for.
Called ibm support but they also cant find any driver.
But i do manage to fix it with upgrade to redhat 4 u6. I believe the early version of kernel not support for SATA connector. I surprise that IBM said they support but never provide any driver for that for the earlier version of redhat 4.
