Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

SATA connector trouble

This doesn't really relate to Linux, but ... I'm wondering if anyone else has the same problem I'm having:

On one of my hard drives, the SATA connector keeps coming loose. It only takes a little bit of play and the entire drive disappears and/or displays a whole buncha errors.

I tried to tape the damn thing, but that didn't work. Is this a warranty issue?

Er, how about you screw the sides of the case back on and leave the damn thing alone ???.
I have a drive that does similar. On my test box of course, which tends to get moved around. I just check it when the boot fails.
I doubt that it's claimable.

I guess I'm gonna need to reposition the tower because in its current position it sometimes gets bumped, and that usually will knock it out of the socket.

Thanks.
