Hi, my motherbord is an asus p4p800. I have a promise ultra133tx2 controller card in my machine too.

I have 3 pata devices hooked up to the standard primary and secondary IDE. I have 1 sata device hooked up to my primary sata port. I am (now) able to boot just fine with these devices.

However, I have two other hard drives that I would like to put as slaves on the controller card. But whenever I put any device on that controller card (while the sata hd is hooked up), then my computer does not boot. I've made sure that the boot order is correct...and the system is correctly identifying all 6 drives. That is, the promise bios is correctly detecting the additional two drives.

So why can't I boot?
