Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Angry Scanner (part of CX3600) not found!

I'm running Suse 9.1 Personal and I'm trying to configure my Epson CX3600 MFP scanner. I have already manually altered the dll.conf file and the epson.conf file with the necessary details but when i run Sane it cannot find any device. I have also set all the permisions necessary for these files so that they are not exclusive to root. Any further ideas? Also, the scanner config option within Yast does not offer ANY scanner list when trying to manually configure, the list remains ominously blank. Yast cannot see my scanner automatically either.
