Sane and xsane hang

Hi Everyone,

Finally (don't really know how) got the FC4 system to recognize my Canon N640P parallel scanner. But, upon scanimage, the scanner starts but only moves slightly and then the program hangs. Xsane opens and recognizes the sscanner but give the same results.

Anyone have any ideas? Also have a standalone Canon driver for this thing, but it also hangs when starting to scan.

Any thoughts appreciated.

All I can say is use VMware to handle the scanner. I use it for my HP Scanjet 4200c. In VMware running a Win98 virtual machine. It scans slow but it works.
