Samsung SyncMaster 930B

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 930B monitor which is a FANTASTIC monitor. I'm using it on a KVM box with a windoze box and 2 Linux boxes. One machine is a "test" machine that I use to test various distros.

I'm having a problem with this monitor during setup. While I'm installing a distro (any distro), the screen flashes off and on for 1-3 seconds every 3 - 15 seconds while in "text" mode. It's not anything that stops the installation, it's just ANNOYING.

Any ideas as to WHY it does this?

Welcome to LQ! You indicate you are using the monitor with other machines. Are you using a "swith box" to switch between computers for the same monitor? I ask because I had the same problem doing this. I have a similar monitor (SyncMaster 193v). It could also be a setting on the monitor itself (mine has different internal resolution settings.) If it is occuring with any distro you install, I would suggest that it is something with the hardware itself.
