Red face Samsung Syncmaster 4-bit monitor, Mandrake, 4 transparent desktops


Sorry for this question, but I live where itīs hard to get good monitors for decent prices.
My boot-up screen is fine, crystal clear. But, when KDE wants to start, I get four transparent overlaying interfaces. (Is that the correct term?) Is it because of my very old monitor? The screen is also wobbly. The "Welcome to Mandrake..." window comes up, ready to help me, but I canīt read what it says, because the screen shakes so much. Not to mention that there are four of them.
