I had installed RH 8.0 on a system, and when it was attached to a Gateway EV700, there were no problems, auto probed and configured, great!

I recently purchased a Samsung 151s LCD monitor, and now that it's attached, XFree86 won't start, I get a monitor based error saying "wrong video mode". I checked the XFree confige file, and it's set for just generic monitor settings.

My two questions... is there a simple, shell command to enable a text based selection of my monitor type?

Two, does anyone have a snippet of a good config file for this make of monitor, or any suggestions for me?

I have the same problem. I just need edit XF86Config file and enter Samsung's 151s LCD Monitor specs, but i dont know them and i never did this kind of hacks. Anybody out there with a Samsung 151s LCD Monitor who is kind enought to send me (or post) his XF86Config file ?
